Glendon has a strong tradition of preparing future leaders through a world-class liberal arts education. We are one of the only university campuses in Canada to specialize exclusively in the liberal arts. We are the only one to do so in more than one language. Since the beginning, we have believed that small classes and a strong sense of community are key factors in student success. True to this vision, today our campus is home to 2,500 students with an average class size of 20, and our student satisfaction ratings are exemplary. We are committed to providing students with language skills for an increasingly global workforce. Whether you are already bilingual or interested in learning another language, we will help you to improve in English and French, and possibly more languages, in a supportive environment. Set on the historic Wood family estate, our campus is a lush parkland in the heart of Toronto — an inspiring setting for university studies and a great backdrop for relaxing outside of class. We are ideally situated only moments from the subway or a short drive to downtown.

What makes TWU different from other universities is that we are a “faith based academic community”. This is a fancy phrase that means that TWU exists so that our students, professors, and alumni, can share the truth, hope, and reconciliation of Christ’s love with the world. We do that through challenging academic programs, and providing our students opportunities to apply what they’re learning on and off campus. In our classrooms, you can openly discuss your faith and wrestle with the big questions that will shape the foundation of your future. While you’re exploring your faith, you’ll also gain the skills and knowledge you need to succeed in the working world. At TWU, you’ll experience a liberal arts education, which just means that you study a variety of disciplines outside of your chosen major. The liberal arts are about freeing each student to explore different areas. You’ll learn how to think critically—and that makes all the difference when you move into the working world where employers are looking for skilled and creative thinkers. At TWU, we live and learn together. Professors are dedicated to challenging and getting to know students. With our small campus and classrooms, it’s easy to find your place in our diverse and vibrant community. Whether it’s playing intramural soccer, getting involved in a discipleship group, or having coffee with your professors, you’ll be able to make a place for yourself here. Our community has a common desire to serve others for the glory of God. From nursing students helping to provide better health care in Zambia, to the International Social Justice Club raising awareness of the sex-trade industry, to graduates working with the homeless in Vancouver’s Downtown Eastside, our students use their education to meet the world’s deepest needs. After your time at TWU, you’ll leave not only knowing what you are called to do, but who you are called to be.
